API Keys

Reasonyx provides managed API keys for popular third-party tools so you can start running actions right away — without setting up anything.

These are called Reasonyx-managed keys and are charged based on your usage credits.

But you can also securely bring your own API keys for any supported connector. This gives you more flexibility, higher usage limits, and zero credit charges for that action.

Reasonyx-managed vs Personal API Keys

• Reasonyx-managed keys
  Use instantly with no setup. Charges apply based on credits used per action.

• Your own keys
  Fully secure and private to your workspace. You are not charged any credits for actions that use your own keys.

How to Add Your Own API Keys

You can add your API key when setting up an Action or Integration.

1. Select the Action you want to run
2. Click the API Key dropdown under Manage API keys
3. Add your API key, name, and select whether to Use as default or not
4. Click save
5. That key will now be used in all related actions

You can add keys for tools like OpenAI, ContactOut, Apify, Firecrawl, and more.

Set Default API Key

You can also set your own API keys as default across the table. If this is selected, it will use this API key for this Action or Integration provider across the entire workspace.

🔐 Security

All keys you add are encrypted and stored securely. We never access or log your key usage outside the specific actions that require them.

FAQs

Do I get charged credits if I use my own API key?

No. When you bring your own key, that action won’t use Reasonyx credits.

Can I switch between my key and the managed one?

Yes. You can remove or update your key at any time. If no key is present, Reasonyx will automatically fall back to its managed key.

Is my API key visible to other users?

No. Your key is only accessible within your own workspace and encrypted at rest.
